What To Expect From Your Visit

Please read through some of the information to help prepare you for your next Bed Bug treatment.

  • Client Preparation

    This information will be sent to you via email once your booking has been confirmed.

    Remove Bedding

    • Take off all bedding including sheets, pillows, blankets, comforters, and other linens such as box spring skirts.
    • Pick up clothes on floors and hanging over chairs.
    • Cabin beds/beds with built-in storage. Remove all clothing items from these storage areas.
    • Bag these items (all above) and launder in hot water at a minimum of 49°C, or place them in a clothes dryer at the highest temperature for at least 40 minutes. (Dryer heat on a high heat setting kills bed bugs and their eggs in 30 minutes – dry clothes).
    • Once cleaned, keep the items bagged and tied to quarantine them.

    Empty Dressers and Nightstands

    • Empty all dresser drawers. Dry the contents on high heat and bag them securely.
    • Clear closet shelves as needed, depending on clothing storage.
    • Empty nightstand contents into a box on the floor. Keep these items in the same room (to ensure they are contained).

    General Tidiness

    • Ensure the room is free of clutter, especially around the baseboards.
    • All moveable items need to be pulled 2 ft. away from the baseboards / perimeter in the treated room (if possible, heavy items can stay)
    • Bed needs to be at lest 3” away from the wall.
    • Vacuum baseboards to remove dust build-up from these areas. Remove the vacuum cleaner bag or contents of the canister, place in a plastic bag, and dispose of in the trash can outside your apartment/home.
    • Cover fish tanks, terrariums and small animal cages with a clean towel or sheet.

  • Avoid

    • Do not apply any powders prior to the treatment.
    • DO NOT SPRAY ANY PESTICIDES OR CLEANING PRODUCTS IN TREATED AREAS. THIS WILL RESULT IN CONTROL FAILURE.
    • Do not change your sleeping routines and locations (otherwise, bugs will remain dormant in your absence and not cross an Aprehend barrier).

  • On the Day of Treatment:

    • High Heat Treatment: All clothing should be dried at high heat and bagged up. The bags will then be sealed and left for 3-4 weeks.
    • Furniture Care: We treat beds, surrounding furniture, and living rooms to ensure no bed bugs are left behind.
    • Be the Bait: Bed bugs are attracted to heat and CO2, so it’s important not to change sleeping locations as they search for food once a day.

How Our Bed Bug Treatment Works – We use Aprehend, a groundbreaking biological control method that is revolutionizing the industry. This non-toxic solution utilizes natural mould spores that spread between bed bugs, ensuring comprehensive eradication without harsh chemicals. It’s a game-changer that allows us to deliver effective treatment in just one visit.

Bed bugs are affected whether sprayed directly or by walking on a previously sprayed surface. Following exposure, the fungal spores will germinate and penetrate the cuticle, colonizing the body of the bed bug resulting in death within 4 to 10 days. Spray will remain active up to 3 months (as per manufacturer). Re-treats, if needed, must be no done sooner than one month from the last treatment.

The treatment itself will take approx 2-4 hours. All occupants need to vacate for the duration of the treatment PLUS 4 additional hours allowing for optimal treatment results. Expect to vacate for 6-8 hours total.

Below are some commonly asked questions about bed bugs.

Bed bugs are small, flat, reddish-brown insects about the size of an apple seed. They have oval-shaped bodies, six legs, and are often mistaken for small ticks or cockroaches. After feeding, their bodies swell and become more reddish. You might also notice tiny white eggs or shed skins in areas where they hide.
