Trenching solution for rodent control in Kerrisdale

At this home, the owners called us complaining about rodent activity in their shed with a sighting in the garden one evening. 

Sheds as well as other dark, quiet places around the home are common nesting sites for rodents. They don’t want to be bothered, so they seek refuge in places less frequented and that provide protection from predators. 

Upon inspection, the Westside team uncovered an entryway at the side of the shed at the foundation level, in between the weeds. These access points are often hard to notice unless you know what you are looking for.

Solution

After careful consideration the rodent control solution chosen was to implement a trenching exclusion using wire mesh to prevent rodents and wildlife from digging and burrowing underneath.

Westside Pest Control’s technician started by digging a trench along one side of the shed, and then secured a 1/4 to 1/2 inch wire mesh to the foundation contouring the mesh to the trench wall and base. A neat solution with a big impact!
