Pest Challenge

What have our pest control techs been up to lately?

At this home in the Arbutus Ridge neighbourhood of Vancouver, our technician Garry and Adam were called out to investigate suspicions of a rodent problem in their garden shed.

The homeowner found some droppings, they weren’t sure what pest had left the surprise. After inspecting the shed, we knew the excrement was too big to be mice and too small to be raccoons), so it had to be the norway rat.

Solution

Our technicians proceed to dig into the dirt along the perimeter of the shed in order to install a galvanised wire mesh strip, then fill it back in with the displaced soil.

Pest control exclusion using a trenching method is an awesome way to keep rodents out of a structure. As we know both rats, raccoons, and skunks can dig (and will dig), if they want to get into what appears to be a cosy space. So installing mesh inside of the ground like this is a great way to keep your garden shed safe from rodents and wildlife.
