The Ants most likely to be a nuisance for Fraser Valley residents this summer are Pavement Ants and Carpenter Ants.
The Carpenter ant is a bit more menacing, because of the damage they can cause. They chew away at wooden structures, with potentially nasty outcomes if left uncontrolled.
Pavement ants are generally less dangerous, however can cause some trouble too if they nest deep underground, under patio slabs, driveways, or building foundations. It might mean ripping up a nice driveway to get to them. :((
