Westside Pest Control is incredibly proud to be a member of the 1% for the Planet global network. We have committed to donate 1% of total sales to approved nonprofit partners each year, with 100% of contributions going directly to the partners of our choosing. The Westside Pest Control team chose to join the 1% for the Planet movement as its nonprofit partners focus solely on finding solutions to some of the worst environmental issues facing the planet today.

1% for the Planet is a program to help fund diverse environmental organizations so that collectively they can be a more powerful source in solving the world’s problems. Businesses that join 1% for the Planet commit to giving 1% of gross sales each year to our approved nonprofit partners through a variety of support.

Ecojustice is a phenomenal organisation and is Westside’s partner of choice through the program.

Ecojustice is Canada’s largest environmental law charity, focusing on the most urgent environmental issues in Canada. From coast to coast to coast, the non-profit has a proven history of winning key cases and securing environmental protections.

For more than 30 years, Ecojustice lawyers have represented Canadians at every level of court— free of charge. Ecojustice is committed to fighting for a thriving environment, safe climate, and healthy communities protected by strong, well-enforced laws.

We’ve donated over $244,659 towards environmental initiatives since 2019.

1% for the Planet is a global movement inspiring businesses and individuals to support environmental solutions through annual membership and everyday actions. We advise on giving strategies, we certify donations, and we amplify the impact of our network.

We collaborate with individual and business members to identify environmental organizations that will make the greatest impact and align with your giving goals. We certify that every dollar contributed goes to a vetted, trusted nonprofit. Our members have given hundreds of millions of dollars to the environment, and our nonprofit partners are doing the hard work of restoring our planet for the future. Our goal is to significantly increase the overall amount of global dollars going to help protect the planet with the smartest donations possible.

The foundation of the 1% for the Planet network is the member-nonprofit partnership. Our business and individual members engage directly with approved nonprofit partners, providing financial donations, volunteer time, in-kind donations, and other shared-value collaborations. Thriving partnerships help deliver longer-term support and greater impact.

1% for the Planet was started in 2002 by Yvon Chouinard (founder of Patagonia) and Craig Mathews (founder of Blue Ribbon Flies). Both successful entrepreneurs, they recognized the power of collective action to protect the environment. Today, businesses and individuals continue to make the 1% for the Planet commitment, creating greater impact every year.
